Here's take two on the idle pose. (Well in reality, it's more around take fifty...) I did a small one pixel change with the shoes, worked on the legs a bit, and instead of moving the shoulder down, I decided to move it a bit back, round out the top and move his hand a bit forward, in hopes to make it look a little less out of shape. I also moved one of his ears so they don't just look like one giant ear. Also, I've decided that I'd be better off finding someone to just imitate Shadow instead of using soundclips. Mostly because I can't find any good quality soundclips of Shadow saying anything, but also because I could get him to say really cool stuff that he'd never get away with in the games, like "Don't worry, it won't take long for death to reach you." or something else to scare his foe into crapping themselves in the intro pose. Now all I would need is someone who could imitate Shadow with pinpoint accuracy... *cough cough* Edit:Oh yeah, I forgot to ask again.,. What attack and/or animation should I work on next for ol' angsty?

Hmmmm.... was that subtle request directed at yours truly? I'd love to help you out, man. Just let me know what you want me to record. Can you extract audio files from video? Is there an option in imovie?
My Vote for the next animation is --- Chaos Control!

I was thinking the same thing for the special move.

Dammit, you guys gotta ride my ass about getting this project finished! How am I supposed to take the responsibility to remember get things done if others don't take the responsibility for me!? Some people these days...sheesh! Anyway, I guess I'm gonna throw in some actual report on the status while I'm at it. I eventually came to the conclusion that his head's too ****ing big, which really pisses me off because a friend of mine spent hours convincing me that his head was too small. Shortly thereafter, I spent FREAKING FOREVER making the head larger. That and he's a Tails fan, Tails fans anger me. Anyway, this might take a while, you go eat some popcorn or something while ya wait. Edit: So, this any better? Another Edit: Um...ello? I'm kinda stuck here until I find out if I should go on with this head size or not...

I'm going to assume that people don't see edits as unread posts, so I shall bumpeth this to once again raise the question on the head size.

The head looks fine to me.

Anyone else got anything to say about it? I know that something about it just doesn't look right, I just can't put my finger on it...

I think I found something: The top head quill is a little thick. You should even it out so it doesn't look strange.

Sorry I've been absent from the forum for a bit. I've been working my ass off on a Castlevania Halloween Party. (which went quite well, if I do say so my self).
I'm really impressed with your work, man. Here's a couple of notes:
1. The head size is pretty good. Maybe make it a bit bigger? It's about on par with the Sonic 2006 Model. I swear the SA 2 one had the head bigger, but that might just be my imagination.
2. It downplay the swing of his hands during the idle motion. It's good that they react, but right now they seem to swing too much. If you are gripping a gun with both hands, you are trying to keep it perfectly steady.
3. I think it looks good, but if it feels off, I think it's the angle we're seeing him at. It's very dynamic, but it's not exactly one that we're used to. We rarely see his head from the side (since he's not in many 2 D games) and with the back turned, we fail to see his back spikes, which usually serve to balance him.
4. I'd probably opt to make his shoes bigger. In the games, his hands and feet are ridiculously disproportionate.

Alright, thanks guys. I'm going to get to work again ASAP (Though with that darned college it might take a while...)
Anyway, Master Silver, I do think I see something wrong with the spines now that I think about it, it seems more like the angle to the size to me. (Though looking at the size is what kind of gave it away, the outside top ones are supposted to have a higher angle, or somethin')
And Quacker, The head size may need to be a smidge smaller, though part of me tells me that I might just need to move it down, what do you think? As for the hands, it's just another idea my friend forced on me. I swear, usually he's better with stuff like this; I guess I'll just have to beat him with a meat hammer for punishment, or something.
And you should be able to see the back spines if you look closely, it's just really REALLY hard to make black stand out on black. Anyone have any ideas for that?
(And I need to get to friggen sleep, it's three in the damn morning!)

Eh, don't feel down. It's looking pretty damned good. It's just the little details make him look slightly off model.
I noticed the spine, and they look good. It's just that we usually see them more prominently when Shadow's facing off to the side. Technically, it's not wrong, but it does look a bit strange in the same way that Mickey Mouse would if his ears were seen from the side rather then dead on.

Hi folks, sorry to butt in, but it was requested of me as I'm... kind of an artist here LOL
Okay, I agree with Quacker about the spines. It'd be nice if we see them a bit more prominently. the GIF is a bit small for me to make out at work, but even then, that's kind of the point. You want people to recognize all of the proportions as correct with a single glance. Do the Mickey Mouse ears thing with the two little black spines.
Aaalllsssooo on his back, there's two grey stripes around his shoulder blades. That COULD be his back muscles, but I'd personally use this back real estate to have the spines on. Unless those are his spines, not in a single row, in which case sorry.
Now using the grey streak to indicate form, how about adding a little streak to indicate the neck? I could swear he had one. That'd sell the twist of the head a bit better. Right now it's like his black head is stuck on top of a black shape that is his back, kinda.
Hope that helps. If not, sorry for the intrusion ^^;

Oh yeah, I forgot: His body looks kinda thin, even for a Sonic character. But otherwise, it looks good.

Oh don't you worry about that, I'm actually quite glad someone's got advice on it. Yeah, I do think the back spines could still use work, probably the angle and the colors and whatnot, being that it's very hard to make black on black noticable. Hi folks, sorry to butt in, but it was requested of me as I'm... kind of an artist here LOL Okay, I agree with Quacker about the spines. If not, sorry for the intrusion ^^; Actually, those grey stripes are supposted to be part of the outline for the back spines, and as for the neck, well I doubt he has anything that classifies as an actual neck, as it's really short and stubby and almost nonexistant and whatnot. Oh yeah, I forgot: His body looks kinda thin, even for a Sonic character. But otherwise, it looks good. Really? I was kinda worried that the body wasn't thin enough...though there's probably something else with the wrong scale that's giving you that notion...

The scale looks pretty good. I guess it's because I lost Sonic Battle...If I still had that, I might have been able to help you further.
So, maybe try making the body a pixel or two wider...if it looks weird, spam me.
