When the bloody was that Photo of sonic and shadow taken? you know, the one on the President's desk with them in front of the White House. Seriously, given the current order of the games: Sonic Adventure 2 (First appearance) Sonic Heroes (they thought he was dead, and had no memory) Shadow the Hedgehog (direct sequel dealing with the androids and his memory loss) Sonic Battle (Shadow's got his memory back) When would Sonic and Shadow have posed for it? Sonic and Shadow kept trying to kill each other until Shadow "died." Maybe after Heroes, I suppose, but Shadow doesn't seem to care about humans at the opening. He also doesn't REALLY remember the events of Sonic Adventure 2 (right away), so why would he have posed for a photo congratulating him for events he doesn't remember?

I cant answer that for you. I was just discussing some serious plotline problems myself in this thread: quackerandbowen.proboards75.com/index.cgi?board=storyline&action=display&thread=1185176122But if I remember right, Sonic Heroes had nothing to do with the main story line. It was just SEGA trying something new as far as gameplay was concerned, but even if that was the case it STILL wouldnt make sense. Shadow doesnt seem the type to want or ask for recognition for his acts.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! My brain. Why SEGA? WHYYYYYYY! I'm not sure either. It's just another one of those "Swiss Cheese Plot Holes" that are coming out of the sky that the flying pigs gave to them. And we still don't know how Maria even died. Did she get shot right in front of him, or did she send him in the capsule first and then the G.U.N. barrage came and shot everyone? Why would they make two cut-scense like that? >_>

you know, it could've been a doctored photo. maybe the prez. has to remind himself why he shouldn't kill shadow, even when the friggin army's hell-bent on destroying him.
or maybe the prez is hiding something we don't know....*shifty eyes*

Hmmm.... A doctored photo that the President used for publicity "post-Colony Arc." I like it. I always knew there was something fishy about the Prez.
Also to answer Penguin's question, in Sonic X it's inferred that Maria was shot after she jettisoned Shadow. In the games, I think it's been rather firmly established that she was shot in front of him. The bit at the end of "Shadow the hedgehog" was just meant to infer that she had a mission when they were escaping GUN. She just didn't tell Shadow for some reason. Maybe aliens were the last thing on her mind during the chaos?

maybe they just put a cardbord cut out of shadow next to sonic and took the pic...

There's another plot hole that's bugging me.
You know at the Last Story in SA2B, where Rouge is reading Gerald's diary? It said something about creating Shadow after Maria was killed. For revenge.
I don't think I misinterpreted...I'll play the last story again and get the exact quotes, but that's what's really bothering me. Gerald's diary said Shadow was created after Maria died, and the prototype was probably the reason for the "accident" and thus Maria's death (my idea).
But if that were true, what about the GUN commander's memories? Unless he was alienated as well (which would explain the creepy eyes of his), his memories make Shadow the real "accident".
aaaaaaaa, this is so confusing. I'm going to research this a bit more, unless someone clarifies this for me. @_@

maybe they just put a cardbord cut out of shadow next to sonic and took the pic... I doubt it. The image doesn't look like that in any way. They're both standing in the picture together. And I thought of another plothole: How exactly IS the Biolizard connected to Shadow? It's never really explained in SA2/B, and isn't mentioned at all in Shadow the Hedgehog

Ha, ha! I like the cardboard cut out idea. Hell, maybe Sonic ambushed Shadow a some point with a camera, just to be a dick.
In answer to the two questions presented above:
This is the best I could piece together from the info in the games (and the "truth about 50 years ago" article)
The Biolizard was the Prototype 'Shadow' of Project Shadow. He was the first attempt at creating the ultimate life-form. (Though we don't know whether Black Doom was involved or not at this point). The key is that Gerald never told anyone that Shadow the Hedgehog was really Project Shadow's ULF. He told everyone the Biolizard was (hence the File that Rouge Found in SA2). Shadow was Gerald's ace in the hole -- he wanted to keep him a secret since Gerald only joined up with the project to find a cure for Maria.
Then something went terribly wrong. There was an incident aboard the Arc. There are three reasons given in the series, and I personally believe they all happened more of less simultaneously (or because of each-other).
1. GUN marches upon the Arc to shut it down. 2. The ULF Gizoid (Emeral) freaks out and goes on a killing spree. 3. The artificial Chaos escape.
We have no idea which came first. We do know, however, that EVERYTHING involved in Project Shadow was meant to be shut down. Maria (Loving Shadow/knowing his ultimate job would be to save earth from the Black Arms) attempts to jettison Shadow -- looking DAMN suspicious in the act. She's shot. Shadow is captured and put in stasis. (Possibly because the future GUN commander tipped people off to Shadow's true origin)
Now, it's clear from "The Truth about 50 Years Ago" that GUN did not know for certain that Shadow was the ULF of Project Shadow, or perhaps even just a derivative of it. They brought him to Prison Island, where they asked Gerald (then a captive) what it was. He told them that Shadow was the ULF and would 'complete him.' By now, Gerald knew he was going to be executed, so the "completion" entailed altering Shadow's final memory of Maria, and implanting the notion of crashing the arc in his head.
This final act of screwing with Shadow's memory is what Gerald meant when he said Shadow was completed while he was in Prison Island.
*Phew*
I tried to keep it as coherent as possible. Any questions?

Hm...so Shadow may not have been the ULF after all...poor thing...he was so lost and confused, it's no wonder he was a big mess in ShTH.
Thanks, Quacker, it answered a lot for me.
But I do have one question...wikipedia said Shadow became a GUN agent in STH 2006. WTH's up with that? O.o (Never played the game, probably never will.)

Oman, if that game wasn't ridden with glitches, it woulda been better then Sonic Adventure. He has become a GUN agent, along side of Rouge. ^_~

He probably just joined GUN to get the snazzy vehicles and the weapons. Good ol' Shadow.

Nah, he joined GUN so he could spend a larger percentage of his time showing Rouge his "Ultimate Power"
And he does it hardcore too, no condoms, missionary only, Final Destination. That, my friend, is the true test of skill.

Of course he doesn't use condoms. He has CHAOS BIRTH CONTROL.
That and he's so awesome, his sperm literally explodes women's eggs.
Ah, "Club Rouge:" Uncovering the REAL truth about project Shadow.
