No, I'm actually pretty sure he said it after saying something like "Press B to swap out weapons" and the game did have more then just guns...oh the joy of beating someone to death with a bamboo stick.

Sonic- "I'd never be caught with one of those things."
Was closer to the line, actually.
Notice how he doesn't specifically say what type of weapon he is referring to, be it guns, or other other forms of weaponry.

I'm just gonna fill in for our local info rat real quick considering that there's been a few more finds about this game...
Ahem...
-The game apparently starts with Sonic about to feast on a whole lot of chili dogs when suddenly he is summoned by Merlina to take on the corrupted King Arthur (now known as the Black Knight). Needless to say Sonic wanted those chili dogs. -Sonic's talking sword is named Caliburn, not Caliber as we previously heard. -The game has two branching pathways and endings. The levels for the two branching pathways are completely different story and level wise. Some stages you won't visit until a few play throughs. -Knuckles, Shadow, and Blaze are playable with Sonic. You have to beat common sense to them in boss battles though, because they serve their king until bested. -Knuckles in the game is known as Sir Gawain. -Tails is also in the game,. but not playable. D: He's a black smith who carves you new items from junk collected. -Chivalry Rank based on how you treat NPC in the stages. Give them rings or other acts of kindness and they'll become your followers and it will raise your rank. Smite them and your rank will go down. -You first train with you're sword by a misty lake, and then go onto the first real stage called "Camelot Castle", a castle town and palace under siege. Other named stages are "Molten Mine", a mining valley with magma, mining merchants, and mine cart rails. And "Titanic Plain", a wide open plain with gigantic enemies and stonehedge constructions and where your sword cuts through tall wavy grass with every strike. -4-Player Multiplayer, including battle mode (where you battle), surviver (where you all team up against enemies and try to survive), and more. -Special missions can be unlocked for online ranking challenges. - Magical Chao Faries replace all the Sonic elements like rings, springs, and boost pads and the likes). -6-9 missions per area. -Enemy AI is good and there are many enemies that can appear at once, including powerful enemies with no slowdown. -Sonic can have one of three fighting styles: Cavalier (Speed Fighting Style), Paladin (Strength Fighting Style), and Knight (balance between two). -You earn stars fro your performance, and use stars to purchase new skills (some borrowed from Secret Rings). -The fighting style you choose also changes you're approach to the game and the abilities you can learn. While Paladin users can learn shield breaking moves and powerful thrust, Cavalier learn wall climbing "splash" jumps, and sword swinging while running. -Can also obtain enchanted items to help you with status effects, like attack/defense increases, invulnerable to status effects and elemental attacks, and other special abilities.

Knowing Sonic Team I'm assuming it's his form that you use to beat the final boss. Probably called something cheesy like The Golden Knight.

As you know, I've very optomistic about this game. I looks like it takes the better aspects of sonic Unleashed and puts them in a sword and sorcery setting. I still believe Secret Rings is a fine game despite taking place n Arabian Nights, so I'll see how this plays out.
And yes, I love gold Suited Sonic. Is there nothing he can't turn into?

The game's been released in the US and possibly Canada by now. Some people have uploaded some gameplay videos on Youtube already as well. With that said, here's the opening cutscene and first level. Here's the Launch TrailerJapanese version here. It's different. Fanart that was selected for the contest can be viewed here Americas RegionEurope RegionJapan RegionAnd the full version of the game's theme Night of the Wind. linkSo far, the only reviews are from Nintendo Power (8.0) and IGN (3.9)]. I don't think it'll do to well with the other gaming press.

Kay, time to start fearing the results this game will have in the subject of Mindscar.
Amy is the Lady of the Lake. Shadow is Lancelot. Silver is Galahad.
Ahem, in most version of the stories I've seen, The Lady of the Lake raises Lancelot as an adoptive mother. Amy is Shadow's Mummie!
Now, it doesn't end here. This is something from the wiki about Galahad:
Ahem, meaning Silver is Shadow's illigitimate child.
If you want one other interesting fact, the wiki about Lancelot says:
Meaning Knuckles was Shadow's tutor/teacher/trainer/whatever you want to say.
Also, Jet and Blaze would be siblings. Though Percival is actually a male in the stories.
I find all this rather humorous, yet worrying at the same time. Incest yaoi of Shadow and Silver really sounds even worse then what people have already been drawing.

Being a proper dork, I should point out that the character Knux portrays, Sir Gawain, gets a minor appearance in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, showing up just long enough to be killed by the vicious "Rabbit of Caerbannog"
The point of this? Simple...Now you'll never look at Knuckles again without imagining Cream gnawing off his head like a hot knife through butter.
(Also, I think what's even scarier is the thought of incest child-*big* Shadow/Silver yaoi)

So, I'm in the middle of this game, now. It's not terrible, mind you. It's just not as good as Secret Rings yet.
The "On-Rails" style of secret rings felt good since you had to control sonic in such a foreign way (Tilting the Wii Remote). Here, you press "up" and Sonic runs in Whatever direction he is supposed to be going in. Whether or not that is up. Its a bit confusing, especially after the kick-ass experience that was Sonic Unleashed on the Wii.
Also, Blaze is Kicking my arse, so if anyone knows a good way to beat her. She's radically difficult compared to the other Bosses who pretty much just give up if you shake your fist enough.

I honestly had a lot of problems with Secret Rings as far as controls. Its not that they were bad, but left handed+wii=lullearningcurve. I know there were multiple times I was holding the control upside down... and didn't realize it. Honestly, I still haven't gotten very far in it either. I'm hoping Unleashed and SATBK will be a bit easier and not have that learning curve. That, or nintendo will put out something to flip the controls.

Sonic Unleashed has great controls. The addition of the Quick Step is one of the best inventions in 3D Sonic History.
