HeartGold and SoulSilver are their real names.
I'll probably get SoulSilver, because Lugia told me to.

New screens released! From the Pokemon Sunday event. Your starter follows you just like in Pokemon Yellow. i44.tinypic.com/1zdxcft.jpgi42.tinypic.com/25uk7kk.jpgi44.tinypic.com/vyo0v8.jpgi43.tinypic.com/rupd0p.jpgPokebeach also took these screengrabs of the starters. (if you can't see them, the website seems to have timed out. I'll upload them to photobucket if they reappear or find other versions of them) They look great! I still don't know whether I should pick either Cyndaquil or Chikorita this time. I'm gonna pick of HeartGold purely for the slight, yet awesome pun that's there. > But it will ultimately come down to which version has Ladyba, Hoothoot, and Mareep. Hopefully, Rollout will be a TM machine so my Furret with the moves Denense Curl, Rollout, and Surf will be able to come back from my previous Gold version. I've chosen Chikorita everytime I've played Crystal, so chances are I'll be picking Chikorita on SoulSilver as well.
Plus I wanna see a chibi Meganium following me around.

More stuff found. Unfortunately, it's also in another language. Let's translate this from Portuguese... forum.jogos.uol.com.br/Topico-Oficial-Pokemon-Heart-Gold-&-Soul-Silver-NEWS-E-PRIMEIRAS-IMAGENS_t_224761huge url is hugeAlright, basically the new stuff is, at least what I was able to make out: - Kanto will be in the game, but slightly altered
- Cerulean Cave and Mewtwo return
- New Battle Frontier
- Legendary Bird Trio and Safari Zone are mentioned
- Story will be slightly different
- Red Gyarados won't be catchable (through story means or as a side quest is not mentioned)
- There might be a Deoxys, Celebi and Mew pokemon event coming up with it
- A Hoenn starter will be given to you later by the prof. by the time the Battle Frontier is available

More news linked. Anybody know German?Images from the Corocoro magazine. In it reveals: -September 11th will be the release date in Japan -Kanto is hinted in the Johto map -The male and female trainers are revealed. The male gets a new look, while the female is almost completely different -New Battle Frontier -New images of some of the Pokemon. Includes Ho-oh, and Lugia pics -Wi-fi compatible and more features compared to Diamond/Pear/Platinum -PokeGear gets a new facelift. A new camera is added as well -Your starter isn't the only one capable of following you around like Pikachu in Yellow. I'm pretty sure certain pokemon won't be able to, though -The defunct skateboard from the last game will finally make it's first appearance -Breeding will be revolutionized slightly. Breeding certain pokes with others will make the baby pokemon look different. As seen with Pichu in the example. It's slightly lighter color and different lop-sided ear.

I guess how the main character in G/S/C was supposed to have a skateboard instead of a bike. ;p

A skateboard was supposed to be available along with the bike, but unfortunately didn't make it past the design process.

Official website has screens up. www.pokemon.co.jp/game/ds/hgssBablefish to the rescue... or not Most of the words are actually in images, so it can't translate it. We now know that it will now be available for DS rather than the new fangled DSi. Here are the images. *( 1 select your Pokemans; 2 The options Menu is on the bottom screen for easy access) (1 looks like Burned Tower; 2 is Slowpoke Well; 3 is probably and image clip of Sprout Tower before you enter) Also note that all three starters can be used follow you. * not actual translations

Well, look here, Serebii's got a clear enough pitcutre I can rip sprites from. Gold and the Pikachu Colored Pichu meet the Notch-Eared Pichu. ;p

Nope, 'cause Japan seems to have a habit not releasing Pokemon games half a year after their Japanese release.
I'd imagine it's because there's so much to translate...but even Brawl took less time to translate than Pokemon games do.
