So, I don't konw if there are any Potter fans here, but Rowling just announced yesterday in an interview in New York that Dumbledore was Gay. It's a strange thing, really. I personally think there's nothing inherently wrong with homosexuality, and that the sexuality of a fictional character is of little importance. On the other hand, there are plenty of people with VERY complicated feelings on the subject, and stirring up controversy over something that's hardly even relevant in the Books makes little sense as well. Especially children's books. What do you folks think?

Dumbledore's gay?
I'm not a Harry Pothead (Lol) fan myself, but I don't see what the point was in revealing something like that. From what I understand, NONE of the characters have expressed any sexual feelings at all.
I think this was just something she randomly expressed, just to piss people off.

Yeah I heard about that too. But honestly, why cause more controversy for your book when millions of them are burned every time they come out for other controversial things? Oh thats right. Controversy sells. I guess that makes what Snape did a hate crime.

Ha, ha! Good call, Fakers. I dunno. It just seems a little random to me. It's be like if the epilogues contained a line about how emotional Hermoinie has been "since her abortion." It just serves to peeve off people of certain beliefs. (Note: I am very conflicted in my views on abortion, but I don't really think that, being a man, it's my choice anyway. That said, I'm sure the Wizard Abortion procedure would be whimsical and charming, like everything else they do.)

I'd like to think of that as myself.

Heard about that.
I'll be honest, I didn't exactly care much. I've never had a problem with homosexuals (I won't go yelling it out on the streets, but a friend of mine at school has the characteristics of a lesbian) and, even if it was a surprise, I see it as no big deal.
Some people probably do, though. I say, "Aw, get over it, it's just a book."
