Note: This thread contains good ol' fashioned Spoilers.
OK, so I just finish Sonic Rush Adventure. I must say, I really liked it. It wasn't a ground breaking game by any means, but it was defiantly a load of fun.
Sure the story was hardly gripping, but what I truly enjoyed were the characterizations. I though Blaze was well done. She was tough and a bit of an introvert, but not so much around Sonic that you got the feeling she had forgotten the ending of the previous game. As the reviews said, Marine was annoying, but that's what she's supposed to be. For the love of Chaos, Blaze even says as much. Whiskers wasn't really threatening, but he was a great rival in their globe trotting adventures. It gave it a Cannon Ball run kinda feel.
A couple of random thoughts for discussion:
*The music was good, but not as groundbreaking as the last game. I did like the Deep Core Bosa Nova and the New Venture, though.
*I didn't care for the Sub or the Sailboat, but I loved the waterbike. It made exploring the seas fun.
*OK, so this game further complicates the entire future/paralelle dimension argument. In fact, it looks like Sonic Rivals never happened, right? Now here's my take -- Sonic Rivals takes place AFTER both Rush games. Blaze's world is still the future, but Eggman Nega sees no reason to tell anyone. And for good reason, since he eventually hopes to off Eggman. He just tells Eggman what he wants to hear so he can get the fat-guy's help.
*What happened to Whiskers at the end? Better yet, why does he look like Eggman? Did the Eggmen build him? Did they build him a mech suit? Is it all a coincidence?
*The hell is up with Mister Tickler?!
*At the end, right before the handshake, didn't anyone else get the feeling Blaze and Sonic might kiss? It was right after Blaze's line about the Emeralds' bringing Sonic to her world for a reason. He has this delayed reaction kind of thing, and I swear he would have shoved his tongue down her throat if there wasn't' a posse of koalas arriving behind her.
