There are so many things I love about this game, but I think my most favorite aspect of the game was the character and world design. The human characters look alot less "realistic" like in the Sonic Adventure games, and instead look like something out of a Disney movie. I kid you not... I read a few articles that compared the stage/character designs as being "Pixar-esque".
The new rendering techniques used in this game made it look absolutely beautiful on the PS3... plus I think the Wii version didnt allow you to explore the town??? I dont know if thats true, because if it is, it's a damn shame because walking around town sure was fun.
Also... the Werehog runs like a dog. It's so very charming. Made me laugh a few times, which is always a good thing. I love love love this game, it's so fun and so challenging that I always take the time to play each level several times before going on to the next.
I have to admit the Werehog levels are pretty tough sometimes... I am so bad at using those timed combo attacks! Other than that, I dont really have much gripes other than what Quacker mentioned about the super speed button of instant death. I dont know how many times I have jettisoned Sonic off a cliff.
That being said, I have a question I'd like to ask about the Sonic Unleashed Story that came to my attention.
???POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD???
Ok so, when Sonic is turned into a Werehog and he finally manages to bump into his crazy stalker Amy, she glomps him and goes on with her usual nonsense until she realizes that she's got the wrong guy and takes off. At first Sonic struggles to get her off and even tells her to get off if I remember right, but then becomes upset when he realizes she doesnt know its him.
So what's with the discrepancy? Either he wants her off or deep down he really doesnt. And either way, why would he get so upset? Sure, Tails didnt recognize him at first, but once Sonic made it clear who he was, it's not like the kid really cared. What makes him think if Amy knew that somehow she wouldnt want to be around him??
I mean, it gets to the point that Sonic tries to escape from her view after he saves her so she wouldnt see him in his Werehog form. Honestly? I dont think Amy would be in the least bit upset. She'd probably just want to cuddle the fur ball even more.
Now, I wouldnt go as far as saying that this scene prove that he's in love with Amy, but it definitely gives a bit of insight into what he thinks about her. It definitely shows he cares enough about what she thinks of him that he wouldnt want her to witness him become a big hairy wolf creature. It's almost like he takes for granted her companionship; when she basically left him in the street because she thought he was someone else, it seemed to really mess with his head.
Any thoughts or additions would prove enlightening.
