Alright, I'm taking RP's suggestion here. Lets stop using the SEGA All Star Racing area for our very heated discussion, and make our own thread.
Continuing on with a response to the last post Sega Fan made...
If your stating an opinion, your best off making it clear it is an opinion. As I said, when you don't, you sound like an opinion shoving jerk. And even if you are now, you didn't when making your first posts, meaning it seems like your just trying to compensate to avoid being hated by your fellow forum users. And just to reiterate the posts that started this...
Calling the DS a crappy system it is not respecting other peoples opinion. You see, when you call something crappy, people will often add in a second part. 'The DS is crappy, therefore your stupid in buying it'. Hence why its a very bad thing and will make people go up in like a napalm coated forest as you said. The first response you got was distaste because you called it crappy and Pengie felt like you were stepping on his opinion's toes. After that, you went on to listing your opinion and made it sound like it was fact. Again Pengie was the first one to reply with increasing irritation. Even so, and while he used some harsh words, the first thing out of his mouth was and I quote...This makes it clear that while his opinions were harsh, they were nothing more then opinions and while he understood if we disagreed, he meant no personal offense. By this point, you'd already pissed everyone off and any manner or form of respect for your 'opinion' was out the window. Then came in MNC. Keep in mind the statement I just made about everyone being pissed and/or irritated by now. You didn't do anything but stoke the fire and further made yourself sound as a elite 'my opinion is always right' fanboy jerk. Saying there are nothing but kiddie games can easily get the idea of 'therefore your immature for playing it' tacked on. Even if you don't say these things, what you did say suggested them and everyone who owned a DS quickly took offense because of it.
Maybe now you'll understand why people are more then a little irritated with what you said. If not, there isn't much I can do.

One of the problems with your argument that annoys me are when people say that if something is kiddy, it's automatically not good. First of all, there is a difference between kiddy, and family friendly, as well as the derivative all audience classification. Now, you're not the only one who does this, but I have explained this many times already and all of them mean completely different things. We simply replied that we feel that the DS is not just "kiddy" or "crappy," and took a counter argument on your statement. Between all this, I think Akago got the gist of the argument. I have made my stance in my last post in the All-stars thread, but also wanted to bring the above paragraph because I wanted to address that as well. You also got to stop contradicting yourself. XD You first said that the DS is "crappy," but then go off to say "Well fine, i don't care, like whatever you want" as if you wanted to get away and never made the argument in the first place. I would also like to point out that I also never said that I hated the PSP. It just simply doesn't have anything I like on it to warrant me enough to get one. I'm sure I would pick it up and had thought about it getting one before. But systems are expensive, and I can only get one. I picked the DS because I thought it was a better financial decision, and I never once regretted it. Not to mention it can also play GBA games, so it just seemed like a win-win for me. As like you, i'm sure you like the PSP a whole like. I'm sure that if somebody else said that they called it "crappy" or whatever negative adjective other people can think of, you would like to defend it yourself, just like I did when this whole argument started. Once again, Akago put it nicely and what she said was we heeded as well. I'm pretty sure that it could have all been prevented not everybody was so high strong about it. ( at least I hope nobody was) I never was, and was simply stating that there really is more to the DS that you give it credit for and I just wanted to point that out. Finally, if I wanted to be a prick I could have just posted this and be done with this whole thing. But it doesn't mean that it's not relevant to the conversation, because it is.

What's to stop anyone, anywhere, anytime, when someone states his/her opinion, from claiming that they're trying to "force opinions"? We got into a heated argument, trying to get our opinions across. I never said anyone else was wrong, and even if I did, no opinion is ever wrong. When I was making my first posts, people weren't claiming I was "forcing my opinions", that's why I never explained. However, it should have been apparent that they were, after all, merely opinions.
For my first statement, that was only my opinion. Yes, it was a mistake of mine to charge headlong into that one, but still, everyone seems to grab that statement and claim that that's all I think. Just voicing my opinion, albeit stronger than I should have.
Once again, just voicing what I think, yet when anyone else speaks their minds in the argument, apparently I'm still the only one who "forces". Anyone who read any of my statements should have realized immediately that it was just an opinion.
I never said my opinion is always right, and once again, the only reason why I didn't explain opinions at the very beginning, is because people weren't insisting that I was "forcing opinions".

O HAI GUYZ!
So, I was just informed that there was a flame war afoot. Thanks to Akago, at least this heated discussion is now in it's own thread. I just want to make sure no one feels unnecessarily attacked right now. As long as no one seems to be getting truly rankled you can keep this up, but as soon as this starts becoming a real problem, it's got to stop.
Long story short:
Heated debate = Ok. Flaming other club members = Not to much.
Thanks!
PS: We all know the Game Gear is the best.

Kicking the next spot the flames picked up here now too. Though admittedly I lost my temper in that one. >_> Huge water leak (See: OMG, where's the shop vac, there's a lake in the basement), drama related to kicking someone out of the house (See: stealing bastard), a lemon car that my parents bought for my brother (See: That dealer lied dammit! Court time.), and him moving out in three days (See: Dude, where's my car!?) a good mood doesn't make.

The NES is hand held? ...I wonder how I can lug around this thing and a tv with me at all times.

It may say "hi," but it's not portable. Honestly, I was just joking, but I did love my game-gear. I know it had it's flaws (like being really heavy and sucking more power than a robot hooker) but I feel I can overlook them. you don't get to be a Sonic fan without learning to overlook things.
