So, I logged into AOL today, and saw the top story on the news feed. It read:
[glow=red,2,300]'Biological Machine' Poses Threat in Skies[/glow] "Blamed for Deadly Plane Crashes"
It was accompanied by a picture of a black swarm attacking a tower. Freaking out, I realized it had finally come to pass -- nanotechnology swarms were destroying our civilization at a microscopic level! At least it wasn't a Zombie apocalypse, right?
Preparing for the end of mankind as we know it, I clicked the link to read more.
Then I discovered that it was a friggen' story about Starlings over-breading in Utah. Yes, small black birds. Apparently, they are becoming a nuisance, and threw a few crop dusters off course. But still, "Biological Machines," right? These must be Umbrella corporation birds right? With the T-Virus or some nonsense.
Nope.
AOL just quoted some naturalist, saying that because these Tweety birds, as a species, eat and breed so efficiently, they are the perfect "Biological Machines."
Sorry for ranting, but this kind of blatant sensationalism that drives me to distrust the media.
I'm just saying.

Hey now, AOL News just wants to report on things that people care about.
Like Charlie Sheen confronting Obama and saying 9/11 was an inside job.
Or about a bear attacking a man in his own home.
But goddamn...Biological machines? REALLY?
