For the first time ever, the original games from legendary gaming icon, Sonic The Hedgehog™ will be coming to the Nintendo DS™ system early 2010. Sonic Classic Collection™ gathers together the first four Sonic The Hedgehog adventures - Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles - introducing some of the most influential Sonic titles to a whole new generation of gamers exclusively for the DS.

Sonic Classic Collection allows fans both old and new to speed through the much loved zones of the four original Mega Drive adventures, in a bid to collect the chaos emeralds and save the world. Optimised to take full advantage of the Nintendo DS system, Sonic Classic Collection will feature a new save anywhere feature, a first in this original series, meaning that the games can be enjoyed anywhere, anytime! Gamers will also be given the chance to expand their knowledge with a wealth of extras including video and collectable pictures that are sure to be fan favourites.

Sonic Classic Collection for the Nintendo DS™ system will hit stores in March 2010.

lolwut at Sonic in the last pic? New game modes were confirmed some time back, could that mean that there could be other character partner combinations? This looks promising, and it's on the DS too. So it's not technically another cash cow SEGA product is it? >.> As long as it's not another Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis, i'll wait and see how this will unfold.

Well, can't say this doesn't look like some rip-off to promote the Sonic fandom in the wrong way... *ahem* Yes, I'm talking to you, Sonic 06, you still haunt my dreams...

ANYWAY! The first four Sonic games on the DS? I sure do hope they fixed Sonic 1, because that game on GBA= laggy as hell.

Other than that, this looks promising, as it may tell new fans just how Sonic USED to rawl, dawg *shot*

Hmmm... If I didn't already have 2 copies of each of those games, I'd be more excited.

Those extra modes sound interesting, but I don't really trust portable ports since Sonic Genesis. Maybe if they added more character for replays, but somehow I doubt that much work will go into this.
